Do you know how I can Contact him? Is he still Alive?
I have not heard from him in many many years. My dad and he I am told had a falling out. They did not communicate much if at all.
My Dad passed a couple of years ago. I just wanted Uncle Don to know he is not alone.
Please if you can let him know I have been thinking of him.
If you have any photos especially personal ones I do .not have any. only ones from books that have been released over the years

Thanks so much. He grew up in Newport, RI. Parents were Edward and I think Edna. They both died when I was very young. When both Don and my Dad were born they lived in a 3 third floor walk up diagonally behind the Navy Y in Newport . His father was a Cabinet maker that made and installed cabnets on WW1 and WW2 submarines at Goat Island in Newport .
My Grandfathers family came to the USA in the early 1600's very early. My grandmother was I think from Gremany. But not sure.
The last time I saw Don was when he was in Newport visiting his sister Ella. It was around the time I graduated High school .
Don went into the Marines just after my Dad who was sent to Guam early on. I think Don was 16 or 17. I remember my Dad saying he was under age and wanted to join .
He was going to Rodgers Highschool at the time also in Newport.
I think I remember he was living in Annadale, VA. or that was the address of the last card I received.
From what I read of Dons light hearted nature he was very much like my Father Howard Lawton. They both looked a lot alike.
If you think it will help in knowing background data.... Look at the web site RealmofLawton.com it details a rather complete history of the Lawton family from 1066 in England to almost present Day.
Thanks for the info.
