Hi Vince,
I read your book Survivor's guilt. I really enjoyed it. I have read several JFK assassination books, materials, and hundreds of movies, and TV documentaries. I am well versed on the events of 11/22/63.
Your book was packed with a lot of information, and I may re-read it to ingest all of it.
I'm glad you wrote this book. I've studied the JFK assassination for over forty years now. One of the first thoughts I had as viewed pictures and films from Dealey Plaza was how unprotected JFK really was. I read The Kennedy Detail and didn't buy that propaganda for one minute.
I'd like to go over a few things in your book. I was so intrigued; I took notes and need clarifications or have comments to make.
* Did I understand you right that this was supposed to be a "mock" assassination attempt? Was Lee Harvey Oswald supposed to have blanks in his rifle? Was he double crossed? Were the other gunmen also supposed to have blanks in the rifles as well?
*You mentioned the ambulance that picked up a seizure patient in Dealey Plaza was there in case the president needed it. I read Aubrey Rike's book Door to History or Window to History. He was the attendant in that ambo and nowhere in the book does he mention that he was assigned to Dealey Plaza. In fact he and his partner went out of their way to see the parade well before Dealey Plaza.
*You mentioned that a piece of JFK's skull was found on the running board of the follow up car. How did it get there?
*On page 325 #1 you mentioned that Chief James Rowley asked to close the border. Why?
*On page 329 you mention antagonism by Evelyn Lincoln toward Agent Behn. Why was she bitter towards them?
*Finally I watched the documentary on the history channel about the Kennedy Detail. On that Agent Paul Landis said as soon as heard the first sound, he "knew" it was a rifle sound. Yet he didn't react to the shot except look around. Was he incompetent, or a co-conspirator?
Thanks! Either Oswald was double-crossed OR he never even fired any shots at all. Aubrey Rike, in a video taped interview I did with him on 11/22/97, corroborates what I wrote. Re: piece of skull- sounds like via a shot from the front to me. Rowley probably did that so no escaping assassin (s) would escape. Lincoln and others were bitter because Jerry's boys failed miserably, yes. Landis- incompetent and a liar.
