Precedent: “Drinking, partying, and sex became part of traveling with the President”- JFK Agent Tony Sherman

“Drinking, partying, and sex became part of traveling with the President”- JFK Agent Tony Sherman—”The Kennedy Curse” by Edward Klein (2003), page 173;
JFK Agent Joseph Paolella: “[He] acknowledged that the Secret Service’s socializing intensified each year of the Kennedy administration, to a point where, by late 1963, a few members of the presidential detail were regularly remaining in bars until the early morning hours [emphasis added].” Seymour Hersh, “The Dark Side of Camelot”, page 244
JFK Agent Abraham Bolden, both in his book and in correspondence with myself, confirmed that the agents indulged in sex parties/ orgies, drinking, and partying.
Nine of the agents from Kennedy’s White House Detail drank alcohol the night before the assassination in Fort Worth (at the Fort Worth Press Club and, presumably, The Cellar “Coffee House”), including four who had critical duties in the follow-up car directly behind his limousine: Bennett, Landis, Hill, and Ready. (Interestingly, they were all from Shift Leader Emory Roberts’ particular shift. Significantly, None of the agents from the V.P. LBJ detail were involved in the drinking incident.)152 The owner of the Cellar, Pat Kirkwood, said: “About 3:30 in the morning, these Secret Service men were sitting around giggling about how the firemen were guarding the president over at the Hotel Texas … Jack Ruby used to come over Friday nights and steal my [stripper] girls … Lee Harvey Oswald washed glasses for two nights at the San Antonio Cellar … We didn’t say anything, but those guys were bombed. They were drinking pure Everclear [alcohol].”153 Likewise, reporter Jack Moseley stated “The … Secret Service activity of which I had knowledge was the large amount of alcohol consumed by members of the Secret Service at the Fort Worth Press Club, where the bar did not close at the regular time that night.”154 Although this flagrant violation of Secret Service regulations was grounds for dismissal from the service,155 none of the men were punished in any way whatsoever by Chief Rowley, who did not want to stigmatize the agents and their families.156 In addition, although all the agents had to report for duty at 8:00 a.m., several stayed out until between 1:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. One—Landis—stayed out until 5:00 a.m.!157 Sleep deprivation can wreak havoc on even the best trained reflexes. DNC advance man Jerry Bruno told the HSCA: “Asked to comment about drinking after hours, he said: ‘They were not “one beer” drinkers. They could really put it away,’ he said. He related an incident on the Naples trip where an agent, whom he did not identify, pulled his gun on a hotelkeeper who would not open a bar late at night to serve them. This trip was in [July] 1963 prior to the Texas one.”158
So, in addition to admitted alcohol consumption and little (if any) sleep, these trained men were assigned to protect President Kennedy in Dallas, stationed a mere five feet or so behind the limousine. Incredibly, the majority of the agents, like the majority of untrained Dealey Plaza spectators, thought the first shot was either a firecracker or a motorcycle backfire; one even said he thought a tire had blown out. Only a select few, including Roberts, who did nothing to protect JFK, knew the first shot was a rifle shot.159 As for their collective reflexes, they were non-existent. Driver Greer shoulders perhaps the heaviest burden for his particular lack of action. Coupled with Roberts’ actions and inactions and Boring’s ‘instructions’, the alcohol and lack of proper sleep could all spell the reasons for the agents’ inactions. Senator Ralph Yarborough, seated in LBJ’s car, summed up the situation best: “All of the Secret Service men seemed to me to respond very slowly … I am amazed at the lack of instantaneous response by the Secret Service, when the rifle fire began.”160 As former JFK Secret Service Chief U. E. Baughman wrote in 1962: “Every one of [the agents] must be ready to place his own body between the President and any danger to him … The individual bodies of the White House Detail are, in the last analysis, the final defense the Secret Service has against an attack on the person of the President. They are human shields. The men of the White House Detail have never failed to perform their duty when called upon to do so.”161 Author James Hepburn said that JFK’s Secret Service White House Detail “worked like a troop of boy scouts … they had lost their reflexes.”162 With regard to November 22, 1963, perhaps Secret Service Officer John Norris summed it up best: “Except for George Hickey and Clint Hill, everybody else just basically sat there with their thumbs up their butts while the president was gunned down in front of them.”163

ALOT of media requests for interviews re: the Secret Service scandal
ALOT of media requests for interviews re: the Secret Service scandal
Well, former agent (and author) Dan Emmett and I were invited to be on "Inside Edition" for 4/16/12 (but it fell thru); WOR Radio had me on 4/17/12 (The John Gambling Show reaches 2 million people in the Tri-State area; went great); and I blew off The Mitch Albom Show servicing Detroit, MI and surrounding areas. Not too shabby so far :)
REGARDING SECRET SERVICE SCANDAL IN CARTAGENA, COLUMBIA APRIL 2012:
-the story broke 4/14/12, the anniversary of the Lincoln assassination (4/14/1865);
-JFK's Detail also went out drinking the night before the assassination (The Cellar and Fort Worth Press Club): NINE agents, including CLINT HILL, JOHN READY, PAUL LANDIS, AND GLEN BENNETT from the follow-up car, participated. Reportedly, Jack Ruby's girls were at The Cellar. Drinking and sleep deprivation---and cavorting with women---can wreak havoc on the best reflexes. There was a PRECEDENT for this- JFK's agents were involved in drinking, partying, and girls long before 11/22/63;
-as another side note, when JFK visited Columbia in 1961, he had the bubbletop, agents on the back of the limo, good motorcycle formation, SAIC Behn on the trip, press in front of the limo, etc;
-the current incident involved ELEVEN agents and ELEVEN prostitutes! As for the agents, among the Special Agents and Uniformed Officers were TWO SUPERVISORS and THREE members of the elite Counter Assault Team, or CAT. The presence of these supervisors signals that this behavior was both facilitated and condoned. Supposed "Wheels up, rings off" parties seem to be the norm;
-this awful incident totally upstaged and overshadowed President Obama's "33 Naitons of the Americas" summit there. President Obama spoke about the allegations, stating that, if they are found to have merit, he will be angry, and that the Secret Service men need to be held to the highest moral and ethical standards, as they represent all of us here in America, especially overseas;
-Ron Kessler states that this incident is "the biggest scandal in Secret Service history", with the Salahi's crashing the Obama state dinner second on the list, and that this further demonstrates a "culture of laxness in the Secret Service." I agree, except for one huge item: THE ASSASSINATION OF JFK UNDER THE DUBIOUS PROTECTION OF BLAIN'S COMRADES IS, BY FAR, THE BIGGEST "SCANDAL" EVER IN SECRET SERVICE HISTORY! If SAIC Jerry Behn would have been on that trip, the lax security and drinking the night before would not have occured. If only fine men like Robert DeProspero and Jerry Parr would have been around on that Texas trip, JFK would have lived;
-the current compromised agents had the president's itinerary: every minute, every detail of his movements and whereabouts known. This would be quite valuable to terrorist groups, enemies, and assassins wishing the president harm---THIS IS WHY THIS CURRENT SCANDAL IS SO SERIOUS! Prostitution is legal in Columbia so, beyond moral issues and breaking their curfew, the current agents embroiled in this scandal could have endangered the life of the president. This is intolerable!

DUBIOUS New JFK film based on Secret Service member's book
I can see it all now: Blaine will have some cheesey actor portraying JFK, falsely commanding them to get off the limo. Blaine has made a ton of money off the man they failed to protect; this film continues the gravy train for him. Remember: JFK DID NOT ORDER THE AGENTS OFF HIS LIMOUSINE---MY MANY INTERVIEWS WITH FORMER SECRET SERVICE AGENTS AND WHITE HOUSE AIDES DEBUNKS HIS BOOK.
Nice job protecting JFK...not!
New JFK film based on Secret Service member's book

NEW YORK (TheWrap.com) - The producers of a film planned to coincide with the 50th anniversary of President Kennedy's assassination say it will set "the record straight in answer to Oliver Stone's fanciful 'JFK.'"
Ramos & Sparks Group of Tallahassee, Fla. and Los Angeles-based Atchity Entertainment International announced Monday that they had obtained the rights to "The Kennedy Detail." The book was written by former Secret Service agent Gerald Blaine and journalist Lisa McCubbin.
Blaine, part of Kennedy's security detail, worked with McCubbin on his first-hand account of serving the president from his election in 1960 through his death on November 22, 1963.
"The unique relationship between this President and those charged with his safety is a story that will add a previously unknown perspective into the brief, but well-chronicled era known as the Kennedy Administration," said Dr. Ken Atchity, president of Atchity, who will produce with partner Chi-Li Wong, as well as Rich Ramos and Bob Sparks.
They made the "fanciful" comment in a news release about the deal. They hope to release the film in late 2013.
An Emmy-nominated documentary based on "The Kennedy Detail," narrated by Martin Sheen, was executive-produced by Atchity and Wong, along with Renegade83, with Blaine and McCubbin serving as producers. It first aired on Discovery Channel in 2010.
New feature film planned as 'answer to Oliver Stone's fanciful 'JFK'

In marketing Oliver Stone's 1991 New Orleans-shot, Kennedy-assassination conspiracy theory "JFK," Warner Bros. referred to it as "the story that won't go away." Now, some 21 years later, another film company is doing its part to make sure that claim remains true.
The Los Angeles-based Atchity Entertainment, in partnership with the Florida-based Ramos & Sparks Group, announced plans today (April 16) for a feature film based on one insider's account of the Kennedy assassination. The production is described it as an "answer to Oliver Stone's fanciful 'JFK.'"
The new film will be based on the New York Times bestseller "The Kennedy Detail," written by former Secret Service agent Gerald Blaine - a former member of Kennedy's security detail -- with journalist Lisa McCubbin.
The book has already spawned a Discovery Channel documentary, also called "The Kennedy Detail," which was narrated by Martin Sheen and nominated last year for a News and Documentary Emmy in the long-form historical programming category.
For its part, Stone's 1991's "JFK" was based on a book by New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison who -- unsatisfied with the official line -- launched his own investigation into the assassination. Shooting for two months in town in summer 1991, "JFK" stands as one of highest-profile films to shoot in New Orleans prior to the state's 2002 adoption of filmmaking tax incentives.
Upon its release in December 1991, the film earned more than $200 million in worldwide box office, as well as eight Oscar nominations, including for best picture. (It won two, for film editing and cinematography).
It also, however, generated no small amount of controversy, as Stone was widely criticized for playing fast and loose with the facts.
The new film, producer Rich Ramos says, will be different.
"As a life-long student of the Kennedy administration and the events of November 22, 1963, I could see immediately that this book provided a clear picture and keen insight into the everyday workings of the administration as well as that horrible day in Dallas," producer Rich Ramos said today in a news release.
"The true story contained in 'The Kennedy Detail' needs to be brought to theaters around the world so that history can be presented accurately, once and for all."
Producers are targeting a 2013 release date - exactly 50 years after the assassination -- although it's unclear when production will begin or where it will take place. No cast has been announced.

Secret Service agents busted because they refused to pay hooker
Secret Service agents busted because they refused to pay hooker:
Scandal was revealed Friday before President Obama arrived in Colombia for Summit of the Americas

The dozen Secret Service agents sent home after a prostitution scandal in Colombia were busted after at least one of them refused to pay a hooker, sources said.
The scandal — a black eye for the United States’ reputation abroad — was revealed Friday before President Obama arrived in Cartagena for the Summit of the Americas.
The 12 agents were part of an advance team meant to secure a local hotel before the summit began — yet their attention apparently turned to taking advantage of Colombia’s policy of legal prostitution.
“They had arranged to have a bunch of prostitutes come by and one of the agents refused to pay a prostitute,” said author Ronald Kessler, one of the leading experts on the Secret Service. “Yes, doubly good judgement there.”
Kessler, who was briefed on the investigation by his sources within the agency, told the Daily News Saturday that the spurned hooker went to the police to report the lack of payment.
The local authorities then notified the U.S. officials, who immediately recalled the 12 agents back to Washington.
“Their careers are over,” said Kessler.
“Number one, it is against basic ethics to go to a prostitute,” he continued. “Number two, it is incredibly embarrassing to the White House.”
“And number three,” he continued. “It could leave them open to blackmail and a possible assassination attempt.”
Kessler said two of the agents were supervisors who attempted to cover up the mortifying incident.
A former Secret Service member told The New York Times that only one one agent tried to purchase the services of a hooker — but the whole team was recalled as part of the investigation.
Prostitution is legal in Colombia, as long as it is conducted in so-called “tolerance zones.”
Though the exact boundaries of the zones frequently change and are rarely enforced by police, the coastal city of Cartagena is a popular destination for prostitution and sex tourism, according to the U.S. State Department website.
It was not immediately clear where the incident occurred. The agents were staying at the beachfront Hotel Caribe, which is also hosting the White House staff and the traveling press team.
Guests at the swanky hotel told reporters that several of the agents had been spotted drinking heavily during their week-long stay.
Obama landed in Cartagena Friday night and attended a formal dinner with the other world leaders at Castillo San Felipe de Barajasajas, an historic Spanish fortress.
The President, who has a full day of summit events scheduled for Saturday, has not addressed the Secret Service scandal. He is not staying at the Hotel Caribe.
The Secret Service did not release any details on the allegations Saturday.
The night before, the agency — which is charged with protecting the President — confirmed that the officers were pulled back to Washington.
“The Secret Service takes all allegations of misconduct seriously,” agency spokesman Edwin Donovan said in a statement. “These personnel changes will not affect the comprehensive security plan that has been prepared in advance of the President’s trip.”
Jon Adler, president of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, told The Washington Post the accusations relate to at least one agent having involvement with prostitutes in Cartagena. The newspaper also reported that several of the agents are married.
All of the agents are based in Washington, D.C., according to Kessler, author of “In the President’s Secret Service: Behind the Scenes With Agents in the Line of Fire and the Presidents They Protect.”
The matter was turned over to the agency’s Office of Professional Responsibility, which handles the Secret Services’ internal affairs.
President Speaks Out on Guard InvestigationBy MICHAEL S. SCHMIDT

WASHINGTON — President Obama commented for the first time on Sunday about the Secret Service employees accused of soliciting prostitutes before a summit meeting in Cartagena, Colombia, saying he expected a high standard of conduct from his security team and adding that he would be “angry” if the accusations were proved true.
“What happened here in Colombia is being investigated by the director of the Secret Service,” Mr. Obama said in response to a question at a news conference wrapping up the Summit of the Americas in Cartagena. “I expect that investigation to be thorough and to be rigorous. If it turns out that some of the allegations made in the press are confirmed, then of course I’ll be angry.”
He added, “We’re representing the people of the United States when we travel out of the country.”
It was Mr. Obama’s first public statement since the Secret Service said Friday that it was investigating suspicions that 11 of its employees had taken part in misconduct in a Cartagena hotel involving prostitutes last week. Those employees were immediately replaced and later put on administrative leave.
Five United States military service members who were working with the Secret Service and staying in the same hotel are also facing an investigation because they violated a curfew and may have participated in the misconduct.
According to a senior United States official, some of the personnel members sent back to the United States could be interviewed again as early as Monday. The official said he and other senior officials were baffled and angry that two supervisors were involved in the incident and did nothing to prevent it. “It’s just extremely poor leadership by them,” the official said.
Mr. Obama’s comments came several hours after Representative Darrell Issa, Republican of California and chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, suggested that more Secret Service personnel members may have been involved in the incident.
On the CBS program “Face the Nation,” Mr. Issa also raised the prospect that the episode had not been isolated and said the Secret Service employees had made themselves susceptible to blackmail. “We think the number might be higher, and we’re asking for the exact amount of all the people who were involved,” he said. “But this kind of breach is a breach in the federal workforce’s most elite protective unit, and they don’t just protect the president, of course, they protect cabinet members, the vice president, first families, candidates.”
He added: “Things like this don’t happen once if they didn’t happen before.”
Mr. Issa said he had not decided whether to hold a hearing and raised the idea of the Secret Service using lie detectors to prevent similar problems.
“We will participate in an over-the-shoulder investigation,” he said, adding, “The question is how are they going to make these changes in discipline, and perhaps polygraphs and other items being intensified, so that this can’t happen in the future.”
The head of the Secret Service from 2003 to 2006, W. Ralph Basham Jr., disagreed with Mr. Issa’s statement that such incidents were probably more widespread and had occurred before.
“Obviously there are incidents that happen, and agents have gotten themselves into compromising situations and disciplined,” said Mr. Basham, who is now a principal at Command Consulting Group, a security firm. “But it is rare, and this is not the type of thing that is woven through the fabric of the Secret Service.”
Mr. Basham said he could not recall an incident involving the Secret Service that had received as much attention from the news media. “This is such big story,” he said. “You don’t hear of this happening in an organization like the Secret Service.”
Avoiding prostitutes is “something people in the intelligence world know about and are taught to be conscious of and told to avoid,” Mr. Basham said. “As a young agent, you are taught to be careful and aware of your surroundings so you don’t get compromised.”
The agents could have been blackmailed, Mr. Basham said, but the Secret Service mitigated that threat by sending the agents home.
Throughout the weekend, the White House has said repeatedly that it still has the highest confidence in the Secret Service.
“These men and women perform extraordinary service on a day-to-day basis, protecting me, my family and other U.S. officials,” Mr. Obama said on Sunday. “They do very hard work under very stressful circumstances and almost invariably do an outstanding job.”
Jackie Calmes contributed reporting from Cartagena, Colombia, and Eric Schmitt from Washington.
The Blaine propaganda machine rolls on-the book didn't sway anyone, so he's hoping a movie will
Wow---what trouble I have wrought with my 22-page letter to Clint Hill in June 2005! Seeing that his book didn't sway anyone (public opinion polls haven't changed- the overwhelming majority of people STILL believe there was a conspiracy AND most thinking people know that JFK did NOT order the agents off his limo), Blaine is now going to have a movie based on the book, timed for the 50th anniversary. Too bad for Blaine that Leonardo DiCaprio beat him to the punch- he is coming out with a major PRO conspiracy movie---based on a book I AM IN, "Legacy Of Secrecy"---at the very same time...gee, I wonder which movie people will go to haha? I can see it all now: ole Ken and Jer will employ some cheesey actor to portray JFK and the guy will read from their script: "I command you: get off my limo! That is an order! Now...or else!"
Oh, brother.
Well, not to worry- public support (and thinking people) are on my/ our side. They won't be fooled.
Major Motion Picture Based on THE KENNEDY DETAIL Planned for 50th Anniversary of the JFK assassination
Friday, April 13, 2012; 02:04 PM - by BWW News Desk
As the 50th anniversary approaches in 2013 for one of the darkest, saddest days in modern American history – the assassination of President John F. Kennedy – plans have been announced for production of a major motion picture based on the New York Times bestselling book, The Kennedy Detail, written by former Secret Service agent Gerald Blaine and award-winning journalist Lisa McCubbin, with a foreword by former agent Clint Hill.
Ramos & Sparks Group (R&S) of Tallahassee, Florida, in conjunction with Atchity Entertainment International (AEI) of Los Angeles, California, today announced they have secured the rights and optioned the book for an independent feature film closely following the book, thereby “setting the record straight in answer to Oliver Stone’s fanciful JFK.”
The venture will be produced by the collaboration The Kennedy Project, LLC. Blaine, a key member of President John F. Kennedy’s security detail, teamed with McCubbin to provide a first-hand account of protecting the 35th President and his family immediately following his election in November, 1960 through the tragic day in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963.
This critically acclaimed account was released in late 2010 as the first book written about the President and his family with the cooperation of the men charged with his protection. The first-hand account, told within the 427 pages of The Kennedy Detail and an Emmy-nominated documentary of the same title, is comprised of individual tales of loyalty, honor and ultimately, loss.
“This book is about a ‘band of brothers’ who committed their lives every day to guarding the President and his family,” said Dr. Ken Atchity, President of Atchity Entertainment International, who will serve as the film’s producer along with AEI partner Chi-Li Wong. “The unique relationship between this President and those charged with his safety is a story that will add a previously unknown perspective into the brief, but well-chronicled era known as the Kennedy Administration.”
“As a life-long student of the Kennedy Administration and the events of November 22, 1963, I could see immediately that this book provided a clear picture and keen insight into the everyday workings of the administration as well as that horrible day in Dallas,” said Rich Ramos, who along with Bob Sparks of Ramos & Sparks Group, will also serve as producers. “The true story contained inThe Kennedy Detail needs to be brought to theaters around the world so that history can be presented accurately, once and for all.”
Plans call for a release in late 2013, nearly 50 years to the day of the assassination of President Kennedy. The Emmy-nominated documentary based on The Kennedy Detail, narrated by Martin Sheen, was executive-produced by Ken Atchity and Chi-Li Wong, along with Renegade83, and first aired on Discovery Channel in 2010. Jerry Blaine and Lisa McCubbin also served as producers.
