Mark Lane's third major book on the assassination of President Kennedy does not disappoint.



As in his first two books, Rush to Judgement (1966) and Plausible Denial: Was the CIA Involved in the Assassination of JFK? (1991), Lane is devastatingly logical, precise, and rational in his deconstruction of massive government propaganda designed to create an air of uncertainty to convince the media, historians, and general public that the CIA somehow wasn't "really" responsible for the professional hit using multiple riflemen that killed Kennedy, and that, ridiculously, the assassination was carried out by a "lone nut" in the sixth floor of a building with a rifle that couldn't shoot straight.



Lane, a defense lawyer by trade, has given Lee Oswald, who never received a fair trial and who in fact was disingenuously aggressively tried and convicted in the court of public opinion by the U.S. government itself ON THE AFTERNOON OF THE ASSASSINATION, a proper defense with his three books. The man is completely innocent. The disgusting little cockroaches in the CIA go scurrying for cover like the lying vermin that they are in the face of Lane's good analyses in his books.



I have visited Dealy Plaza in person, when you are there surveying the scene from the overpass to the immediate west it is patent that the motorcade route was changed specifically to zig-zag onto Houston Street, and then on to Elm in order to bring it by the three tall buildings at the corner of Elm & Houston and also by the wooden fence on the hill from which the fatal frontal head shot emanated. There is no valid reason why the motorcade couldn't have simply continued straight on down Main Street as originally planned, other than the fact that doing so would not have provided the ideal vantage points afforded to snipers at the intersection of Houston & Elm.



If you only read three books on the assassination of President Kennedy, make them Rush to Judgement, Plausible Denial, and Last Word. (Honorable mention to On the Trail of the Assassins by Jim Garrison and JFK Conspiracy of Silence by Charles A. Crenshaw, a doctor at Parkland who knows by direct observation that the wounds on the front of the president's body were entry wounds.)
