SAM 26000 Logbook
This scan from the SAM 26000 logbook shows the entries made on Nov. 22, 1963, the day President John F. Kennedy flew to Dallas, Texas, where he was assassinated. It logs President Kennedy's final flight from Dallas (Love Field) to Andrews Air Force Base. On this flight Kennedy's body was returned to Washington, D.C. (U.S. Air Force photo)

These logbook entries illustrate some of the historic flights made by Boeing VC-137C SAM 26000 (Air Force One) from 1963-1965.
The logbook shows the entries made on Nov. 22, 1963, the day President John F. Kennedy flew to Dallas, Texas, where he was assassinated. It logs President Kennedy's final flight from Dallas (Love Field) to Andrews Air Force Base. On this flight Kennedy's body was returned to Washington, D.C.
The logbook also shows entries made under the new President Lyndon B. Johnson. It was on this aircraft that Vice President Johnson was sworn in as the new President of the United States.
